I've had my iPhone for a few weeks now and am thus far incredibly impressed with the device. Even though it has its major flaws the phone makes you feel like you're finally in the 21st century.
First I'll tick off my biggest annoyance 1) battery life 2) no MMS 3) no way to toggle Push settings via a timer 4) Apple is slow at approving application updates
I came from using a Treo 650 and the Treo would last for several days of heavy use before needing to be recharged. By heavy use I mean hours of talk time, EDGE data downloading, etc. With my iPhone I am finding I have to charge it twice a day. It's a small sacrifice to make but I am sure that if I travel I'll need to bring one of those battery quickchargers (since my Macbook itself doesn't hold a charge too long, and
The most phone I've had with my iPhone thus far is using the 'Remote' iPhone app to control the music playlist at Thad's wedding. Thad put me in charge of downloading wedding songs from iTunes and organizing them into a playlist. He suggested I use 'Remote' to control the list during the wedding reception.
I hadn't yet used 'Remote' so I dug into it. I found out that 'Remote' only worked on a wifi connection. So I brought one of my old Linksys WRT54GS wireless routers to the wedding. We had horrible luck with the A/V equipment at the wedding--but the router itself worked quite well. I set up a 'wedding' wifi connection and had a laptop and my iPhone connect to it.
'Remote' was great fun to use, but it seemed incredibly finicky. When it worked it worked flawlessly, but oftentimes it just wouldn't find the iTunes library even thougg I had a perfect wifi signal. The highlight of my DJ'ing was when I got to start a Red Light Green Light game with the girls on stage dancing to Katy Perry's I Kissed a Girl.
On a side note, I hit a few buttons on my Treo today just for kicks and I saw that my Treo still has a 54% battery charge. The Treo has been unplugged for maybe 3 weeks now. I am sure if it had its cell antenna on it would have only lasted a week or so, but it's still impressive that it's holding such a charge on stand-by. I was loyal to Palm/Handspring for years and I do hope that they make a comeback.
With the iPhone it seems as though I have to charge my phone twice a day in order to ensure that I'll be able to talk on the phone later. I am travelling next week and am going to be looking at rapid backup chargers to ensure that I'll have juice whenever I need it.
Yoness to all and welcome to my review of unforgiven.
ok well unforgiven started up with ECW championship scramble match which was one of those matches that seemed to promise nothing but turned out to be the gift that just keeps giving. it opened up with the miz and matt hardy who solidly wrestled for the first five minutes then chavo came down and scored the first pinfall at which point the match gained a faster pace and was very enjoyable to watch. next to enter was mark henry who proceded to demonstrate just why he was ECW champion in the first place by physicaly dominating all three other competitors. and then there was the last entry in the match being finlay, as soon as finlay entered the match got alot faster and alot more choatic and it seemed like litirally anyone could have won and when the time ran out things ended with the new ECW champion being Matt Hardy (and about time too)
the next match was priceless vs cryme time with the tag gold on the line. This was a very competitive tag match which could of went either way. Cryme time used some interesting double team moves (most of which involved throwing JTJ at people) and priceless wrestled a solid match with the victory of Priceless. The only real complaint i have about this match is the weak finish (being a revearsal of a small package) but even that was immediatly overshadowed by the after match brawl between the two team with the surprise interference from Manu pretty much confirming that the dawn of evolution mark 2 is upon us.
next im gonna talk about the unsactioned match between jericho and shawn michaels. this was one of those matches wich going into it had the same kinda feel as the old matches between stone cold and kurt angle with a build up had been done excellently and as a match it didnt dissapoint it it truly was a gritty , agressive fight. this match ended with the not so surprising victory of shawn michaels but was definatly worth watching and was probably the match of the night.
we also had the smackdown scramble match. this match opened with jeff hardy and shelton and was fairly decent but seemed kinda lacking things did pick up however when The Brian kendrick made his (very slow) way down to the ring and the match became more and more interesting when kendrick scored a pinful and actually remained temp champ for a impressivly long time. after HHH entered this match (as the last person) though it very much became a contest between jeff hardy and the game with the victory of HHH (not relly surprising he wrestled for 5 minutes)
we also had the divas championship match between maryse and McCool. this again was a match that didnt promise much but actually turned out very good its just a shame more time hadnt went into this rivalry realy as this match had alot of potential to be even better.
and the last match of the night was raws scramble. due to events earlier in the night involving priceless and orton cm punk was unable to compete in this match meaning that we were pretty much guarenteed a new champion (unless of course no one was able to pin anyone else) but yeah it relly was one of those matches which was all about star power though it was mildly entertaining to watch. things did get rather interesting however when CM punks replacment Chris jericho hobbled down to the ring (now ever since the scramble was annouced iv been saying jericho should have been in there and clearly WWE aggreed) but anyway after spending most of the match in pain on the floor jericho manages to score a pinfall in the last few seconds saving us from a batista title reign (man batista has bad luck in title matches)
Who said the labour wouldn't come up with a solution to illegal immigration
Two illegal immigrants attempted to smuggle themselves out of Britain because of the economic downturn.
The
pair, who are from Pakistan and have not been named, were caught
cowering in the boot of a Ford Mondeo by border control officers at
Dover.
They have since been deported.

i am very disappointed in raw's title match last night when did jericho become a contender for a title match ? after hbk whooped his ass i don't think he should have been allowed to wrestle in this match,i think the chance should have been given to someone else.
Yesterday I spent all day with my good friend, his wife and their two little daughters. This friend is like one of my best friends here in Orlando. He's the type of friend that I don't need to call everyday or every week but I know he is there for me and vice versa. So yesterday, I went to their home and we just sat around and talked. His daughter were running around and being little girls. One is one year old and the other is three. It was good seeing my friend go into his roll as father. He is a great father also. When he goes on business trips, he takes his whole family. His daughter gave me something she made in school and she said, here Uncle Johnny I made this for you. It really touched my heart.
After about two hours he told his wife that he and I was going to Coronas (Sandlake) and smoke a cigar. His wife is really cool and told him to go ahead because he is always home with them. So we were sitting there outside and talking and he was telling me about work and his family. I was tell him about work and my personal life and he was happy to tell me how I was doing it all wrong. That is what true friends are for. It did make me think alot last night when I got home.
Anyway, we talked about how we don't hang out as much as we use to. He mentioned that when you are single, you hang with single people. When you are married you hang with married people and when you have kid you gravitate to people with kids. He mentioned that just how you get and you don't even notice it. I think that is where my problem in relationship have come from. When I am in a relationship I still hang with my single friends instead of gravitating to my friends that are couples. Maybe it isn't possible to keep all of your single friends and be in a successful relationship. I've tried it that way for a long time and I have always lost in love. When you get in a relationship you may gain a great women but you will lose some friends in the process. That is just the way it is and you have to understand that going in. I've always thought you could have them both but the reality of life is, you just can't. One freindship isn't good for the other. All these years and I am just now figuring that out.
September 8, 2008 Trying To Please Others Living For Ourselves
Most of us come to a point in our lives when we question why we are doing what we are doing, and many of us come to realize that we may be living our lives in an effort to make our parents happy. This realization can dawn when we are in our 20s, our 40s, or even later, depending upon how tight a hold our family of origin has on our psyche. We may feel shocked or depressed by this information, but we can trust that it is coming to us at this time because we are ready to find out what it would mean to live our lives for ourselves, following the call of our own soul, and refusing any longer to be beholden to someone else's expectations.
One of the most common reasons we are so tied into making our parents, or others, happy, is that we were not properly mirrored when we were children. We were not honored as individuals in our own right, with a will and purpose of our own, to be determined by our own unfolding. As a result, we learned to look outside of ourselves for approval, support, and direction rather than look within. The good news is that the part of us that was not adequately nurtured is still there, inside us, like a seed that has not yet received the sunlight and moisture it needs to open and to allow its inner contents to unfurl. It is never too late to provide ourselves with what we need to awaken this inner being.
There are many ways to create a safe container for ourselves so that we can turn within and shine the light of awareness there. We may join a support group, go to therapy, or start a practice of journaling every day for half an hour. This experience of becoming is well worth the difficult work that may be required of us to get there. In whatever process we choose, we may feel worse before we feel better, but we will ultimately find out how to live our lives for ourselves and how to make ourselves happy.
September has arrived and I honestly couldn't be more happy. Autumn has always, always been my favorite season, because of the colorful leaves and great breeze. Its coming. I like all the seasons, but Autumn and Winter have always been my favorite seasons. MY favorite holiday is also coming up in October, Halloween :P the beginning of the new year, for many anyway :D

Well, Mortals, you heard me missive in me Diary of Magecraft, so I guess I'll say it hither at me RenSpace pages: DUMBLEDORE FOR PRESIDENT!
I have no intention of waiting about for it to be July, when Warners releases Half-Blood Prince, The Movie. I have simply concluded that the world has gone so bonkers that there be no way back ---- unless a revived, reincarnated Albus Dumbledore intervenes. He shares the same forces as our Exalted Father Merlin; doubtless, his power could give our sick, sad world the incentive it needs to save itself, lest the forces of Nastiness win the day, which, of course, must not happen!
Only Dumbledore, once properly secured in 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, could bring all the wonder he has long shared with his Hogwarts pupils to the one place where he should have been from the very first: the Presidency of these United States!
I welcome your comments, should you consider the very concept of a Dumbledore Presidency bonkers.
Eleggua got a new rhinestone crown and a rose garland today - yes he is very, very spoiled LOL...
Most traditional Elegguas are made of concrete, but this one was made with a coconut shell brought from Cuba and given to me by a friend. The coconut is his sacred (and favourite) food. The eyes and mouth are made with buzio shells (cowrie shells) and the feather crown is made from a blackbird's tail. The coconut is filled with herbs, stones and witchy things which are sacred to him.
Eleggua is my santo de cabeza (head saint); that means we are consecrated to each other. Though I'm not an orthodox Santeria follower, nor do I beling to any official religious group, I like to spoil my Orisha like any santero does :) .
